Pole Integrity

We exude Midwest professional service ethic. It is the most critical service we provide to you, and it is just as true for our pole integrity services, including pole inspections and pole stubbing. With Mi-Tech, our clients never have to worry about the stability and soundness of their poles. With tried-and-true techniques, combined with the latest and greatest technology, we can inspect and treat every utility pole you have.

Technology advances every single day. Obvious, right? You might be surprised just how many people still use old paper records to keep tabs on valuable resources.

At Mi-Tech, we set ourselves apart by providing digital maps and data access so clients can keep more precise and detailed records.

Best of all, our data integrates with your internal mapping system. Welcome to the 21st Century!

Sometimes when the integrity of a pole is compromised, you might not have to replace it entirely. Instead, our inspectors will determine if it is a good candidate for steel trussing using PoleEnforcer® by Laminated Wood Systems. Then, to save costs while still providing safety and security, our team can brace the damaged pole and make it last for years to come.

  • Avoid costly pole failures due to aging and damaged infrastructure.
  • Treat wood poles to maintain strength and durability.
  • Our inspection options are tailored to customers’ requirements and needs specific to their system, including:
    • Visual Inspection: Identify defects visible above ground.
    • Sound and Bore: Use sounding hammers to identify rot and decay, followed by drilling an inspection hole for further internal investigation. Take and record thickness measurements.
    • Partial Excavation: Examine the pole just beneath the groundline to identify surface decay and insect infestations.
    • Full Excavation: Conduct complete below-groundline inspection where most rot, decay, insect infestations, and moisture and penetration take place.
  • Reject and tag poles that do not pass inspection.
  • Tag all inspected poles.
  • Use remedial internal and external preservatives and bandages for groundline protection.
  • Asset Data Acquisition, Delivery, & Web Access via Mi-Data
  • Ground Resistance Testing
  • NESC Violation Audits
  • Joint Use Audits & Pole Loading
  • Guy Guard Placement
  • High-voltage Signage Placement
  • Full Mapping and GIS Services using ESRI, AutoCad, or Microstation-based software
  • Easement & Land Management Services

With more than 35 years of experience in the field, our trusted team has seen it all. Our pole restoration techniques have succeeded time and time again in the harshest elements.

Each situation and utility pole are different. That is why Mi-Tech offers several techniques to ensure your system is only getting what it truly needs.
