Right-of-Way Easement Professionals
The Right-of-Way Department at Mi-Tech SERVICES brings easement expertise back to the Construction Site. Whether you want to know if you may have an existing easement, or if you need to acquire easements over the many miles of your project; we have the experience and the man power, to work quickly on your project, while saving your company money.
Year after year, Mi-Tech’s Right-of-Way Department continues to help its clients reach construction goals, by providing them with the property research, permits, and signed easements, both ahead of time, and under budget. But the work does not stop there, for our Right-of-Way Department; Municipal meetings, ingress/egress easements, and tailgate meetings with the construction crews are all part of the services we promise our clients.
Our experienced agents have worked in the Telecommunications, Power, and Pipeline Industries. But their experience does not end there. Our client list includes Private groups, Municipalities, and State Agencies throughout the Mid-West, and we are now looking to reach out to the rest of the U.S. Our Right-of-Way Department is devoted to taking it upon themselves to reduce the amount of man hours with the property owner, while still satisfying the client; the property owner; and the client’s bottom line.
We also work on acquisition projects for power companies. We research properties, for deeds, existing easements. We visit properties to work out encroachment issues with the property owner. We also put together the zoning permits, work with the construction crews on any easement issues, put mailing lists together, in order to notify property owner of upcoming construction. And work with surveyors, in staking received easements for Transmission Lines and Substations.

Nsight Teleservices has utilized Mi-Tech Services for engineering, drafting, construction inspection and project management since first building our SONET network. Mi-Tech Services has assisted us in completing our original network design and has been handling Nsight’s outside plant engineering requirements since that time. Mi-Tech handles our new on-net builds, maintenance and record keeping. The Mi-Tech team has been available to assist us with any of our outside plant needs at a moment’s notice and has been a valuable asset as we add to and maintain our fiber optic network.

Project Experience
Power Company, MN
28 mile project
Mi-Tech negotiated all ingress/egress easements for the power company, and its contracted construction crews. Negotiations included entry routes through heavily wooded areas, along (and over) the bluffs of the Minnesota River, and across farmland. This also included County land, where trees were to be removed, in order to get equipment to the easement area. Power Company, WI
Multiple projects
Mi-Tech negotiated all ingress/egress easements for the power company, and its contracted construction crews. Negotiations included entry routes through pre-harvest farm fields, and through DNR restricted wetlands.
Municipality, WI
Easement research for individual and groups of properties
Ensure that desired easement area is free and clear of all other easements. Draft easement documents, along with staking/pinning easement area. Draft exhibit to be included with easement to be recorded. Stake right-of-way and existing easements, ahead of City construction. Design all existing easements to City’s CAD system. Multiple Telephone Companies, WI
Property research
Negotiate easement area, with property owner, using parameters set by client. Stake and pin easement area, and draft exhibit to be recorded with signed easement. Permit with Municipal, County, and State Agencies, for the placement of equipment within easement area. Affectionately dubbed the “S3”, we have spent much of the past 3 years performing the “Search, Stake, Sketch”, for one of our larger clients. Our agents searched properties, where existing equipment was. We then called locates to encompass the easement area. Our surveyors then staked and pinned all found easements, and did a CAD sketch of the easement area, including trees, sidewalks, driveways, lot lines, easement and equipment dimensions. We also included all located utilities within the area, and submitted this information to the client for review.
